SESSION ABSTRACT: As a child when you dreamt of being an astronaut, you were the one who made it into space, the first to walk on Mars...not part of the crew. You didn?t dream of being a walk-on actor in a cheap movie ? you were the Oscar winner. Life can erode self-confidence and make us accept less than our dreams. But we can regain that vision and the skills to help the individuals in our teams and organizations define who they are and to reach new dreams. In performance development there is a move towards coaching and mentoring. In this workshop you will work with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) coaching skills, helping you to develop yourself, people and performance. Learn patterns of excellence when coaching, and understand how NLP can help you to become an outstanding coach improving your performance and that of your clients. Prior knowledge of NLP would be helpful to gain the most from this presentation. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Recognize the key differences between coaching, mentoring, counselling and consulting. Demonstrate how the NLP communication model works. Apply the key components of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to coaching.
