SESSION ABSTRACT: What's on the cutting edge in e-learning - in fact, what defines the cutting edge in e-learning - is, frankly, anything that works. Given the somewhat dismal history of e-learning in terms of learner retention, engagement, and completion, any program that attracts learner participation on a regular, enthusiastic basis and develops professional networks that endure beyond the program's end can be considered a screaming success. More importantly, online learning communities provide the opportunity to integrate 'learning' and 'work' where the end result is tangible ROI. Learners will see an example of real community in action.
