SESSION ABSTRACT: What's on the cutting edge in e-learning - in fact, what defines the cutting edge in e-learning - is, frankly, anything that works. Given the somewhat dismal history of e-learning in terms of learner retention, engagement, and completion, any program that attracts learner participation on a regular, enthusiastic basis and develops professional networks that endure beyond the program's end can be considered a screaming success. More importantly, online learning communities provide the opportunity to integrate 'learning' and 'work' where the end result is tangible ROI. Learners will see an example of real community in action. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Identify the key success factors for online learning communities - and the key reasons that they fail - based on the experience of 25 companies. Explore how companies are successfully using communities; specifically at the intersection of Learning AND Work.
