SESSION ABSTRACT: The world of training is shifting from classroom learning to job performance. This epic movement opens new vistas for trainers, but also requires that we treat training as a business. In this session we will focus on cutting-edge ways to evaluate and measure training and performance improvement interventions to ensure that desirec business results are achieved. Learners will first examine a training and performance improvement model that is built around business results. Second, learners will explore four methods for evaluating the impact of training and performance interventions of all types. Third, learners will explore a series of metrics that measure training and performance improvement inputs, processes and outputs over time to allow for continuous improvement of these efforts and to demonstrate bottom-line results to stakeholders. Finally, learners will apply the principles of measurement and evaluation in several case studies. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Explore four methods for measuring training and performance interventions. Design metrics for training and performance improvement inputs, processes and outputs. Apply a bottom-line training model in your own organizations.
