Presenter(s): Anders Gronstedt Session Length: 1:15 hr Event: 2006 ASTD International Conference Date: May 7-10, 2006
It's the management dream: you can talk straight into the ear of all employees without taking them off productive work. Thanks to the new iPod-driven phenomenon known as podcasting, employees can listen and learn while driving to work, walking the dog, or riding the subway. In this session, the speaker will present success stories from his European and American clients and explain how podcasting might represent the next big thing for training. The trend is largely driven by Asia and Europe where MP3 players are built into cell phones and cell phone penetration in some countries is exceeding 100 percent. Learn how global high-tech firms use podcasting to energize their sales forces and how a leading European political party is using it to educate its support base with audio feeds delivered via intranets, learning management systems, or MP3 players. Learning Objectives - Develop audio programs modeled on popular talk radio formats. Integrate your podcasts with a blog strategy. Develop an entirely new training format that is conversational, entertaining, and interesting. Talk to your IT department about technical requirements for delivering podcasts.
