Session #: 336-SU202
Presenter(s): R. Roosevelt Thomas Session Length: 1:15 hr Event: 2006 ASTD International Conference Date: May 7-10, 2006
In this session, you will have four concrete experiences. First, you will explore arguments that the field of diversity is stuck, and that diversity management is a misunderstood and underutilized leadership framework. Second, you will hear the contention that, if properly understood and used, diversity management possesses enormous potential for fostering effective management. Third, you will be exposed to Strategic Diversity Management™ as a decision-making craft with definitions and terminology, principles, processes, tools, and practice requirements. This craft will be positioned as a vehicle that can serve as the bridge to the next level. Finally, you will leave the session with a clear sense of what the next level of diversity will be, and the nature of the education, training, and development efforts required to advance your organization and its leaders to this higher state. Learning Objectives - Use Strategic Diversity Management™ as a vehicle to take your diversity programs to the next level. Transform executives into "masters of the craft" in your organization.
