Session #: 336-SU207
Presenter(s): Marc Rosenberg Session Length: 1:15 hr Event: 2006 ASTD International Conference Date: May 7-10, 2006
Whether you're just getting into e-learning, or have been at it for a while, the field is rapidly changing. How important are new approaches such knowledge management, communities of practice, and workflow learning? What do they mean for the way training is managed? How can the formal, instructional side of learning coexist with the informal, informational side, and what benefits does this integration bring? To move beyond e-learning, we must redefine it and focus on 'e-training' and on building a smart enterprise. This session advocates new ways to think about e-learning-and what it can and can't do. You will be challenged to think differently about e-learning-and learning in general-and, in doing so, you will receive new opportunities to increase your likelihood of success. Learning Objectives - Implement informal learning solutions. Develop an expanded set of learning solutions, including knowledge management, collaboration, and performance support. Implement a broad-based learning and performance architecture.
