Session #: 336-SU303
Presenter(s): Christine Fleming Session Length: 1:15 hr Event: 2006 ASTD International Conference Date: May 7-10, 2006
In this session, the speaker will share the details of Quiznos University's first online training initiative for new franchise owners and store managers. Previously, these learners were exposed to the basics of the business through print and self-study. The spiral learning pattern used in the first online courses completely changed this approach, bringing learners to a much higher level of competence. Spiral learning is a design approach that allows an instructional designer to create a framework that builds in repetition, reinforcement, and new concepts. At Quiznos University, this pattern was used to gradually add new courses as learners progressed through the program; a total of 10 courses were developed. Learning Objectives - Apply spiral learning as a design method for your programs. Use lessons learned from Quiznos' project in your own program.
