In order to succeed in the workplace, you must have the communication skills to inform, persuade, and influence up, down and across the organization. No matter how many ideas you have, if you can't express them to your stakeholders, you won't get the support you need. In this session, the speaker offers practical and adaptive strategies for informing and influencing others-no matter where they fit into the organization chart. By the end of this session you will be better able to: use indirect and direct messages to influence what is heard; build commitment and ownership by speaking to the what's-in-it-for-me effect; assess and enhance your credibility when influencing stakeholders; apply a structured persuasion model to improve your ability to convince others of your point of view; and communicate a clear action plan that attracts stakeholder support. Learning Objectives - Apply a structured persuasion model to improve your ability to convince others of your point of view. Design messages that target others' roles and responsibilities. Analyze and use your credibility to present a message to your stakeholders that allows them to understand and support your initiatives.
