When employees, with their managers' support, are accountable for their own development, they have more skin in the game. Fidelity has designed a competency-based development-planning program with a comprehensive set of tools that encourage and enable employees to drive and be accountable for their own development. The program also provides managers and employees with the capability to integrate development planning with our organization's performance-management system. For employees, the program shows Fidelity's commitment to their development and career planning. For Fidelity, the benefits are increased workforce readiness for organizational growth and succession planning. The program has been honed and streamlined over several years using feedback from managers and employees. This session will share the lessons learned and best practices of this program. Fidelity will demonstrate the Web-based development planning program and tools that employees use for development in their current jobs as well as for preparation for future jobs.
