Session #: 337-M203
Presenter(s): David Vance Session Length: 1:15 hr. Event: 2007 ASTD International Conference & Expo Date: June 3-6, 2007
The learning profession is too apologetic about our lack of hard data, too timid to set goals, and too reluctant to be held accountable. It's time to change. You will learn how to apply an economics and business perspective to manage a learning organization. The importance of establishing goals and forecasting results, even when you are wrong, will be explored. You will learn how to use a scorecard to manage effectively and gain credibility. Alignment, governance, and planning processes will be cast in a business perspective. You will be challenged to look at your own organization, determine your own level of business acumen, and identify what is holding you back. You will learn that our challenges are really no more difficult than those faced by others, and why you should be more confident in your ability to meet them.
