Could you be investing in your employees too late? Good news... you can catch up! Hindsight 20/20 will help you design and plan for a potential leader program and ensure the curriculum is aligned with your current supervisory and management plans. With succession planning and the development of potential leaders being critical to organizations' success, you may wonder why so few organizations have designed quality prequel supervisory programs. Investing in the backup leader-in-charge prepares professionals for their first step in supervision, then management of others, and finally for leading high-performing agencies. In secondary education, when the foundations for student achievement are not visible, high school educators blame middle schools, and middle schools blame elementary schools. The same problem may be occurring in your company's learning institution when you assume your potential leaders have acquired certain skills in the absence of targeted training. You will be introduced to the competencies identified for these positions and discover two other critical elements that must be in place before alignment of the instructional design will work.
