Session #: 337-W209
Presenter(s): Mark Steiner Session Length: 1:15 hr. Event: 2007 ASTD International Conference & Expo Date: June 3-6, 2007
So what is this talk about ISD? Is it just some academic mumbo-jumbo that people with advanced degrees discuss in an attempt to raise their own self-importance and feed their egos? Or does it encompass worthwhile methodologies and approaches that will increase the effectiveness of your e-learning and assist in standardizing your approach for more predictable results? Does a traditional ISD model work well on e-learning projects? What is Rapid Prototyping? How can you use Rapid Prototyping on an e-learning project? Which method is better? The speaker will explore some of the basic tenets of instructional design and rapid prototyping as they relate to e-learning. Some of the discussion points include: - why a strong ISD methodology/process needs to be married with a strong software development process to build the most effective e-learning applications - the ADDIE methodology - basics of rapid prototyping - how to implement the best of both the ISD and rapid prototyping worlds.
